Discover the creative possibilities of monoprinting combined with linocut guided by experienced printmaker Susan Wheeler.  The day is organised to be both relaxed and inspiring and a great introduction to this colourful and inventive method of printmaking.  You’ll be amazed how much you can achieve in one day.

Who is it for?

No previous experience is necessary.  The day is thoughtfully structured to build your confidence and skills step-by-step, making it accessible to complete beginners as well as those with some creative background.

What you’ll learn

We’ll start with an introduction to the techniques of the craft, looking at some examples before moving to some excercises.   The focus will be on using stencils, both cut and pre-made materials building up texture, colour combinations and complexity.  There will also be the opportunity to combine either self-made of pre-made lino plates with the monoprints.   By the end of the day you will have a series of monoprints/linocuts to take home with you.

What’s included

  • all tools, inks, lino, paper and stencilling material needed for the day.
  • Tea.coffee, biscuits, cake and lunch to keep you energised.

What to bring

Just your enthusiasm and an apron and please wear old clothes as the inks used are not washable.   If you happen to have any spare cotton material eg sheets, shirts etc it is always useful for making rags for cleaning up.
