Example of students' work

During this workshop you will learn how to make a linocut Christmas card.  We will discuss how to design for a linocut, before choosing your design from a  selection of images and examples.  You will then learn how to transfer the drawing onto the lino, ready for cutting.  There will then be a demonstration of how to use the cutting tools safely and effectively and practise this on a small piece of lino before cutting your design.

There will be a demonstration of how to mix and apply ink to your cut plate and how to print using both the press and hand burnishing methods.  You can then experiment with printing in different coloured inks on different coloured papers.  This workshop if suitable for all levels of experience.  Details of materials suppliers will be available so the you can continue to make  prints at home.
